What is the quality of a good restaurant
in Hendersonville?

Hendersonville is a place where people love to keep pets, and all good restaurants across the city allow pet owners to bring their beloved pets along so that they can enjoy their dinner without the rush of heading back to the house. Jolly Ollies’ Pizza is one of the Dog-friendly restaurants in Hendersonville that offer this ability to its customers.

What’s the history of Jolly Ollie’s?

Opened in 2010, Jolly Ollie’s Pizza and Pub started out in a 2000 sq. foot space in the shopping center that formally housed Hendersonville’s first Walmart. During that time, the shopping center was in a declining state after losing its anchor tenant, Shopmart. With the gradual fall of the center’s occupancy and the loss of retail traffic, the owner Dilya Knight had to make a decision. She must close down the restaurant permanently or move to a new location. Determined to see through her dream to open a restaurant and bar capable of providing great food, fun, and entertainment to the local residents, she decided to relocate the establishment to where it is now.

The move marked a dramatic change to the concept. With an additional 5000sq foot to inhabit, it was decided that there would be two distinct atmospheres. A space designed to host family events and dinners and a separate area for adults only to enjoy. The building’s structure, a 2 story block, and brick development provided the perfect separation. The kitchen and family dining was created on the ground floor and a bar was built on the 2nd floor. The bar would have billiard tables, dart boards, and a stage for entertainment such as live bands, karaoke nights, and even the occasional comedy skits.

Fast forward through a successful 5 years of business in Jolly Ollie’s new location and disaster hits!

On July 12, 2019, before the restaurant had a chance to open, a semi-truck pulled into its parking lot and hit a power line that went from the building to the roadside sign. The driver of the out-of-state semi got out of his truck, wound up the wire, and placed it in the grass next to the sign without reporting the accident to the police. Later in the day, when the first employees arrived for work, one of them flipped on the breaker to the sign but because the wire had been ripped from the roof, it sparked and caused the roof to catch fire. The fire department was dispatched and was able to put out the blaze, however the smoke and water had consumed the building making it un-inhabitable. Reconstruction and clean-up would ensue for the next 13 months before Dilya would be able to once again, open the doors to her customers. Upon reopening, her loyal customers would be happy to see new changes to the property! During that downtime, a new set of double doors were added to the upstairs bar leading out to a brand new covered deck. The deck has both couch and table seating and overlooks the soon-to-be-open beer garden! The inside bar was rebuilt, more TV’s added, a walk-in beer cooler was built in to provide 16 taps of draft beer, and a VIP room created for those looking to book their own private space. Things were looking great and the people of Hendersonville and surrounding, once again had a hometown establishment to visit for all the food, fun, and entertainment one could want! Jolly Ollie’s wants to thank ALL THOSE RESPONSIBLE for helping with the reconstruction, ALL THOSE WHO LENT SUPPORT, and ALL THE CUSTOMERS who came back in, after 13 months, to continue to support the restaurants growth.
